ЦЕФАЛГІЇ ЯК ПРОЯВ КОМОРБІДНОСТІ У ХВОРИХ НА РОЗСІЯНИЙ СКЛЕРОЗ: ОСОБЛИВОСТІ ПЕРЕБІГУ, ПІДХОДИ ДО МЕДИКАМЕНТОЗНОГО ТА АКУПУНКТУРНОГО ЛІКУВАННЯ

Abstract

Introduction. Headaches (HA) are comorbid nosologies for many diseases: it is subject to multiple sclerosis (MS), in particular. Headaches of various origins are more frequent in patients with MS than those in the general population. Aim. To determine the effect of HA as comorbidity manifestation in MS on the disease course and to develop the best ways for their drug and non-drug correction. Material and methods. There were examined 189 patients with various forms of MS. The data on the presence or absence of comorbidities were recorded. The EDSS level was determined, the fatigue severity was measured by the Fatigue Severity Scale (FSS) and the Scale of Asthenic Conditions, the pain manifestations were assessed by the Visual Analogue Scale (VAS). Results. The main factors associated with the development of HA in patients with MS, are: the disease long duration, more significant fatigue, remitting and remitting progressive course, more significant disability. There were analyzed the used methods of acupuncture in the complex treatment of MS. Conclusions. HA in patients with MS correlate with the more severe progression of the disease. In order to correct cephalgia syndromes in patients with MS it is reasonable to involve acupuncture methods.
